Wallet in Telegram, a third-party cryptocurrency wallet Mini App within Telegram, is set to significantly enhance its custodial crypto services. In the coming months, the platform will introduce at least 50 new cryptocurrencies and an innovative Earn feature that promises to reward users with yields on various assets, including Tether’s USDt (USDT). The rollout is part of a broader initiative by The Open Platform (TOP), recognized as the leading venture builder in The Open Network (TON) ecosystem.
Scheduled for release within the next two months, this new generation of Wallet in Telegram will not only facilitate transactions involving major cryptocurrencies like Ether (ETH) and XRP, but it will also include trending memecoins such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and Pepe (PEPE). According to a spokesperson for Wallet, these expansions are aimed at meeting the increasing consumer interest in a diverse range of crypto assets.
Importantly, the initial rollout will be limited to in-app transactions for non-TON tokens. Users will be able to buy, sell, and hold these tokens within the custodial wallet environment, but they will not be permitted to initiate altcoin transactions to external wallets or exchanges. This decision highlights Wallet’s focus on the TON ecosystem while catering to demand for alternative trading options.
The spokesperson emphasized, “We focus primarily on the TON Ecosystem and maintain comprehensive operations for TON-native tokens… However, we recognize the desire for users to engage with various other assets, which we are providing in a trade-only mode for the time being.” As a result, the full list of tokens may undergo adjustments and will be gradually introduced over the subsequent weeks.
In addition to a broader cryptocurrency portfolio, Wallet in Telegram plans to launch an Earn program that will allow users to earn flexible yields on their deposits. Kicking off with Toncoin (TON), the initial Earn campaign requires a minimum deposit of just 0.1 TON. The yields generated will originate from staking Toncoin, and this feature is expected to be extended to other altcoins and stablecoins, including USDT, in the future.
As these developments unfold, Wallet in Telegram remains committed to providing a secure, user-friendly interface for its growing community. This is an exciting time for both new and existing users, as they stand to benefit from an enhanced trading experience and new earning opportunities within one of the most popular messaging apps in the world.
