Republican Mike Collins, re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, disclosed an investment in Ethereum (ETH) worth nearly $80,000, according to the platform Quiver Quantitative.
The platform tracks investment purchases of key public figures and shared this information shortly after the U.S. presidential election.
Aside from Ethereum, Collins has also reportedly acquired $15,000 worth of Aerodrome (AERO), an automated market maker and decentralized exchange supporting Base, a layer-2 network on Ethereum launched by Coinbase. Following Donald Trump’s election victory, crypto prices surged, with Ethereum nearing $3,000 and Bitcoin hitting new all-time highs.
While Collins is not the first Congressman to hold cryptocurrencies, his move signals a potential trend as the industry gains influence in U.S. politics amid evolving regulatory dynamics.
