Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has released a new tool called ‘Based Agent’ that enables users to create their own artificial intelligence agent with a crypto wallet in less than three minutes. This innovation aims to simplify the process of developing AI agents for tasks such as trades, swaps, staking, and more.
The ‘Based Agent’ template allows users to build AI agents with access to smart contract functions, integrating with various onchain activities. Users need an API key from Coinbase’s developer program, a key from OpenAI, and to fork the Replit template to get started.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong emphasized the speed and accessibility of creating AI agents, stating that users can now establish their own AI tool in under three minutes. This initiative follows Armstrong’s recent involvement in AI-driven transactions and his support for autonomous AI agents.
Industry experts predict a significant rise in AI-driven blockchain transactions, with projections indicating that over 80% of all blockchain transactions could be conducted by AI agents within the next year.
